DEXcube

DEXcube’s are navigational beacons, resembling a Rubik’s Cube, that anchor a tunnel to two dimensional planes of existence. Without these devices, a DEXer would not have a point of return once they arrived at their destination. **IMPORTANT** A tunnel is always a one-way trip. A DEXer MUST have a pre-scripted World Disk or a DEXcube, registered with their return world, to make the journey back home. Refer to the safety guidelines for more information.

Some may believe that a World Disk for the return trip could be scripted once a DEXer reaches their destination, but this is a common misconception. The disk created in this way would most likely lead to a parallel version of reality, the consequences of which are unknown. It is not possible to script Earth as we know it, there are too many variables. Before leaving home (our Earth), the CODEX system must be used to fabricate a DEXcube to take to the destination, registered with our unique world signature. In some cases, a DEXcube with Earth’s signature might already be at a location if it was visited previously, but to be safe, don’t risk leaving without one.

The reason the anchor device resembles a Rubik’s Cube, for the most part, is security. Its inconspicuous nature allows for it to sit in an ordinary home and not call attention to itself, other than its puzzle like features. To avoid accidental activation, the puzzle must be solved, and even then, an unlock pattern must be drawn, set by the owner after registration. Once this is done, the CODEX logo will light up for confirmation. Tap it once, and the cube will speak the destination world aloud in a robotic voice. Other information can be accessed by holding your finger and just asking. For possible queries, read the advanced documentation on DEXscript.

To arm the device, tap the logo 3 times rapidly, it will begin to flash, a robotic voice will speak the destination, and a beeping tone will be heard. Finally, toss the cube down in a safe area to activate it, a triangular arc of light will emit outward, and a one-way tunnel to the destination will immediately open. Note: if the DEXcube tumbles under an object, a bed or couch for example, the tunnel will still materialize inside a physical object at a triangular angle (60° in all directions) from where the cube comes to rest. Please be mindful of pets. The DEXcube will automatically deactivate and scramble itself once the tunnel closes.

Bypassing Security

If in possession of an ARC Zapper, the security measures can be overridden (if the DEXcube has been registered with this same zapper) by toggling the zapper’s safety on and off (or off and on) and then tapping the logo square (on the DEXcube) 3 times in rapid succession. This must be done shortly after toggling the safety for it to work. The DEXcube will then hover slightly above the ground and start to automatically solve itself. This allows the standard lock pattern to be bypassed as well.

Rapid Prototyping

The CODEX system can also be used to fabricate DEXcubes with the rapid prototyping module that attaches to the rear of the system. Using three-dimensional computer aided design and additive layer manufacturing, the CODEX system creates the parts for assembly, layer by layer. The most important part, the DEXcube’s core, is created first in one solid piece. Afterwards each “block” in the cube is created to be assembled manually onto the core. Conductive metal materials are required for the core, while polymer materials are needed for the block pieces. If the rapid prototyping module is planned for use at the destination, please make sure the needed materials are readily available in that world.
